Basically, the hope is that these images of happy, smiling folk will make Joe and Janice Heterosexual say, "Hey, I know those people. They live down the street from us and they're really nice, solid human beings. Hmm... maybe the gays aren't that bad after all." Mind you, this campaign is not going to change the minds of die-hard gay haters, but it may open up the minds of those who've been sitting on the fence and are willing to acknowledge that people are pretty much the same no matter their sexual orientation, and for that reason alone deserve equal respect.
