We wish for everyone to share in a positive gayneighbor experience. We are fortunate to have supportive neighbors and a caring community of both family and friends who honor, respect, and value us for who we are. Today as we signed our names to the Domestic Partner Registry of WI, at the Milwaukee Courthouse and found out we were the 114th couple to register, we were grateful for the presence of couple 115 and their family, sharing in our celebration and assisting in taking the photo that we can post here. Given that couple 115 and their family were strangers to us, we felt as if there was a shared understanding of family and more importantly the love that unites our families. This was a gayneighbor experience for us. It goes beyond the physical place we call home, neighborhood, or community and ultimately resides within the experiences in our hearts. We express our gratitude to that family for helping to make our day memorable and to the others both within our biological and chosen families who continue to share with us that strength, patience, compassion and love will carry our family forward.
