I am sick of people who consider themselves tolerant who continue to use the word "gay" to mean "lame." Every time somebody does it, I feel like it's chipping away at the progress of our society. What happens when a sixteen year old who's struggling with his sexual identity hears people talking like that? Or somebody who is uncomfortable with gay people? Their fears and prejudices are being reinforced. What we say matters. It always matters.
