Describe Your status:
Gay
Relationship Status:
Partners, 4 years
We are both trans women who live on Madison's lovely
Northside and have been partnered for four years. When we met
we were still in transition and Renee was still married, but we
are both through that now. Renee recently lost her former spouse
and loving companion of 24 years to cancer, but on the upside
Megan's brother and his wife are having a baby daughter soon.
We take the bad with the good. Life goes on and so do we.
Advice: What doesn't kill you makes you
avoid it the second time.
Megan is a scientist and Renee is an freelance
IT consultant. We enjoy gardening every summer and in the winter
we enjoy the snow covered landscape. We also live with our two
cats, Mee-moo and Romaki. Cute!
Most of our neighbors know about us, in fact some
of them watched Renee transition over the years and we still have
good relations with them. Much love to our family and friends
- you know who you are!
We have both been active in our local LGBT community
for years and the people we meet give us hope for the future of
humanity even through the residents of our fair stated voted discrimination
into our state constitution.
Opinion: Letting the majority decide the
fate of the minority population, bad move!
Maybe the next generation can undo this injustice?
Can we wait that long?
IMHO, no!
When we were in Thailand this last winter we noticed
how the Thai people didn't really care what your orientation or
gender identity was, they treated everyone with respect and kindness.
That is what we wish for our community. A world where you can
be who you really are without threat or prejudice. A world where
you can have your deeply felt beliefs and convictions without
tearing someone else down in the process. Things are getting better
for transgender people in America but there is still so much hate
out there for people who are different or take a different path.
People are people and love is love. Pass it on...
