I was reminded yesterday just how misguided some people can be. I saw someone I haven't seen in about 15 years. At a point in the conversation he asked me when I was going to get my personal life right with God. I basically said "I don't know what you're talking about, but that's a very odd thing to talk about after not seeing you all these years." Basically I made it clear that my life is fine and really none of his business. However, had he asked me about my journey from where I was to where I am, that would have been much different than the immediate judgment. Considering what he knows about my past, one might think that I had to have come to a major revelation about what it means to be a gay christian, rather than having devolved into super-sinner.

I really am tired of people using God's love, a love that surpasses all understanding, to preach hate. It's the stick and brick form of evangelism; beat the heathens until they see the light.
