I have a wonderful partner and we call ourselves a couple of old farts. I like being involved in the gay and transgender community because it gives me an opportunity to meet people and learn from others and learn more about myself.

I was born what they called then a cross-gender baby. I was raised as a boy and then at 13 I started to develop breasts and my family took me to County Hospital to try to fix me by overbalancing the female hormones.

I always tell people I love them and God Bless. I am a positive person. I like to hug people and receive the same. My family doesn't give me love, so I share it because it is how I would like to be treated.

I worked for 25 years in die casting. I was injured on the job and became homeless. I met Edward, my now partner at church. He took me in and I am forever grateful.

My family used to treat me better. After my father died that all changed. My mother has asked me to get out of her house and told me I couldn't be her family. I still go see her and help her bathe every week.

I would like to see my family united. I would like to see all gay families united and to be able to marry. I think it is only fair. I pray for change and acceptance.
